Dan Martens
and Tim Farmilo first joined forces when they met at UWO and then later combined
as co-founders of Western I.T Group.
Dan Martens acquired his
masters in computer science at the UWO. After a decade of industry experience
in Silicon Valley and in Toronto at IBM, Dan applied his entrepreneurial talents
to build Western I.T Group from the ground up. Starting the company with a small
investment of $500 and a lot of sweat equity, he has established the Western I.T
Group as the leading I.T consulting professionals in the London area. As the
internet expanded its grasp on social networking and business operations, Dan
recognized the influence of the ubiquitous technology on global communications.
He has invested in developing expertise and facilities to support his vision to
position Western I.T Group as a leader in unified communications and internet
telephony.
Along the way, Dan has developed a trusting relationship with his loyal clients,
who continue to rely on Western I.T as their technology resource guru and now
their telephony service provider.
After graduating from Computer Science at UWO, Tim exercised his expertise with
3M Canada working in information technology and business application
development. After progressing to
E-Business Manager for Canada, he joined Dan at Western I.T Group as executive
vice president. Tim excels in database driven architectures and business
workflow analysis. Tim is highly regarded for his ability to design and develop
custom business applications that conform exactly to specifications, timeline
and budget from concept. His proven ability to understand, assess and capture
our clients’ business needs and design the appropriate solution the first time
reinforces his credibility to our customers and value to the company.
When Tim is not hard at work, he recharges his batteries camping with his
family or escapes to the links to chase golf balls.
Terry has been in the telecommunications game since pre-deregulation in 1980.
Since then he has been involved with several large and small telecom and
networking products companies in product management, marketing and sales roles.
In a business development capacity, he has launched and operated his own
business and understands what it takes to stand out in a highly competitive
business environment.
Terry abandoned his career to
become a rock music legend but still fancies himself as the Canadian version
of Jimmy Buffet, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Croce, Jim Morrison all roled into one when he plays
around the campfire.
Steve has been in the telecommunications, computer and I.T. industry for over 30 years. During his 18 years in the telecom industry, Steve worked primarily as a PBX service technician for companies such as Bell Canada and Delphi Solutions. In 1999 Steve obtained his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification and in 2000 started his own computer sales and service business. Seven years later, he closed his business to work more in the I.T. side of the industry. Steve now gets to combine his telecom, computer and I.T. expertise to help Western I.T. Group provide the best support in the business.
In his off-hours, Steve enjoys butchering songs on his guitar, computer gaming and snoozing in his recliner. He has been known to occasionally work on renovating his home and completing his honey-do list.
Greg has completed the Computer Programmer Analyst Course at Fanshawe College in December of 2010 with an Advanced Diploma.
After this, Greg decided to give back to the developer community by running a site dedicated to teaching new developers the programming languages, skills and development environments needed to be successful.
Also seeing a relivance in mobile development and the expanding market he decided to focus his attention on all relivant mobile platforms and the languages needed to develop for them.
Greg holds a special place in his heart for .NET development and was glad to utilize this skillset when joining Western IT.
In his off hours, Greg enjoys spending time with his wife and programming applications for around the home to make day-to-day life easier.
